As Europe's biggest and most respected model agency, Select wanted not only a website that had high production values but a solution to their image and portfolio management issues. They needed a solution that could be maintained in-house by non technical staff with minimal training. With over 500 models and 250,000 images this solution was going to have to be good.

By bringing together a user group representing all sectors of the fashion and advertising industry, we were able to address many of the issues faced by users early on. We spent time with Select to see how they managed current workflow. That helped us develop an image management system that fitted with current practices. The result makes extensive use of the drag and drop interface to update the site and is easily managed by the agency's 25 non-technical bookers.

The system has already shown a return on investment through savings in administration and generates monthly revenue on portfolio distribution. Both Macromedia Magazine and Design Week featured the site and it was commended at the BIMA awards in 2004. The solution continues to deliver and has recently undergone a refresh that includes the addition of video management and updates to Actionscript 2.
